Dr. Kotrappa has worked with athletes at every level and held the following roles:

Evaluation and non-surgical treatment for acute injuries, overuse problems, and chronic musculoskeletal pain. The goal is to reduce pain, restore function, and support a safe return to activity.

• Acute sports injuries and overuse conditions
• Knee, hip, shoulder, elbow, hand, wrist, foot and ankle pain
• Tendon, ligament, meniscus and muscle injuries
• Care for runners, golfers, tennis and pickleball players

Non-surgical orthopedic care for osteoarthritis and chronic joint or tendon pain. Treatment is individualized and may include rehabilitation, ultrasound guidance, or an office-based procedure when appropriate.

• Ultrasound-guided joint and tendon injections
• Cortisone and hyaluronic acid injections
• Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for selected conditions
• Tenex for selected chronic tendon pain
• Shockwave therapy (ESWT) for selected tendon and soft-tissue problems

Sports physicals or pre-participation physical evaluations (PPEs), are performed to determine if an individual is physically fit to participate in a sport. It is often required by schools or sports organizations before an individual can participate in a sport or league.

Evaluation and follow-up for sports-related concussion in patients age 14 and older. Care focuses on symptom review, school or work accommodations, and a stepwise return to activity when clinically appropriate.
